2007 Arts & Culture Celebration
Due to an obligation, I forced myself to attend the 2007 Arts & Culture Celebration held at Capitol University here at CDO this morning. I approached CU's conference hall expecting to be disappointed but emerged wholly entrhalled by the whole affair. I can't acctually believe that I was in the same room with Dr. Alejandro R. Roces, an acclaimed writer and National Artist, and for about 2 hours breath the same air ( we even ate the same bread for snacks). Dr. Anding Roces is the acclaimed writer of My Brother's Peculliar Chicken and We Filipino's are Mild Drinkers. The affair talked about the development of filipino youth awareness about our own culture and literature. Madam Cecille Alvarez and Mr. Vim Nedarez who're connected with the National Commission for Arts and Culture was also there, delivering passionate speeches about the dying arts&culture in our youth.
All in all, the event I feel, was a history in the making.
